The 5 Themes of Geography: Human-Environment Interaction
Boreal Lake
How the Environment Affects the Humans: The lakes delay the progress of winter. They make it the longest season in Finland. The Finns get a lot of snow during their long winter and have to try really hard to keep warm when there is a lot of snow.
How the Humans Affect the Environment:The Finns use a lot of natural resources. They chop down their forests for warmth in their cold climate. The forests' trees need to try hard to produce more trees to make up for what the Finns use. The natural resource consumption rates per capita of Finland are the third highest in the world because of this.
